How to Contribute to the Interfuse Knowledge BaseContributing to the Interfuse Knowledge Base is free and only requires an Interfuse account. Contributors can create new topics, expand existing articles, correct information, add references, and contribute images across a wide range of subjects. You do not need to write a complete article or be an expert on every aspect of a subject. Contributions can be large or small, and all submissions are manually reviewed by Interfuse editors before publication. Contribute what you know and help topics continue to develop over time. Step 1: Sign Up for an Interfuse AccountThe first step is to create a free Interfuse account. Registration is quick and gives you access to the tools needed to contribute to the Knowledge Base. When you create an account, you also receive your own profile page. Your profile highlights your contributions and can provide information about you, including a biography, location, homepage URL, and other relevant details. Interfuse supports several types of accounts:
Choose the account type that best represents who or what will be making the contributions. Step 2: Log InOnce your account has been created, log in to Interfuse. Your account Dashboard provides access to contribution tools and other features associated with your account. As you contribute, your activity can become part of your Interfuse profile and contribution history. Step 3: Create or Edit a TopicThere are several ways to begin contributing. To document a new subject, click Add Topic from your Dashboard or click Add Topic from the Knowledge Base homepage. You can also browse or search the Knowledge Base for an existing subject where you have something useful to contribute. Open the article and click the Edit button to begin improving the topic. Before creating a new topic, search the Knowledge Base to determine whether the subject has already been documented. If an article already exists, consider contributing to that topic rather than creating a duplicate. Step 4: Submit Your TopicThere is no wrong way to submit a topic. All submissions are manually reviewed by Interfuse editors before publication, so you do not need to worry about getting every detail, classification, or formatting decision perfect. When submitting a new topic, you will have the opportunity to provide:
An image slug is the portion of an Image Library URL that identifies the image. For example, in:
the image slug is:
Provide as much useful information as you can and submit the topic for review. An editor can make corrections, improve formatting, adjust its placement within the Knowledge Base, and make other changes when necessary. See How an Existing Article Is FormattedIf you are unsure how to format a new topic, you can use any existing Knowledge Base article as an example. Find a completed article and click the Edit button. The editing form uses the same fields that appear when adding a new topic, but the fields will already contain the information used for the existing article. This provides an easy way to see how the Topic Name, Parent Topic, Short Description, Header Image, Article Body, Gallery Images, and other available fields are used before creating your own topic. You do not need to make or submit any changes to the existing article. Simply viewing the editing form can be used as a reference when preparing your own contribution. What Can You Contribute?New topics can cover virtually anything worth documenting. This could include computers and technology, sports, history, science, finance, music, business, health and wellness, nature, hobbies, people, places, products, equipment, organizations, events, or countless other subjects. Consider what you already know. Professional experience, hobbies, education, research, travel, personal projects, collections, observations, and everyday experience can all provide useful information. A computer technician may know about networking or computer hardware. A sports enthusiast may know the history of a team or the rules of a particular sport. A musician may understand an instrument or piece of equipment. A gardener may have years of experience with particular plants. A business may have specialized knowledge about its industry. Almost everyone knows something worth documenting. Improve Existing TopicsYou do not need to create a new topic to contribute. Existing articles can be expanded with additional information, clearer explanations, firsthand knowledge, missing details, useful context, or better organization. If you encounter an article covering a subject you know well, click Edit and contribute your expertise. Even a small addition can make an article more useful. Correct Inaccurate or Outdated InformationKnowledge changes, and mistakes can occur. If you find information that is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or outdated, you can edit the topic to help correct it. When appropriate, include a reliable source or reference that supports the change. Corrections are an important form of contribution and help improve the overall accuracy of the Knowledge Base. Add References and Supporting ResourcesReferences provide additional support for information contained within an article and give readers opportunities to continue researching a subject. Contributors can add relevant sources and supporting resources to Knowledge Base topics. References should primarily be included because they improve the information available to readers rather than for promotional purposes. Contribute ImagesContributions are not limited to written information. The Interfuse Image Library allows contributors to provide photographs and other useful visual documentation. Images can help identify subjects, demonstrate characteristics, document observations, provide examples, or add visual context to Knowledge Base topics. Whenever possible, contributed images should include an accurate title and description explaining what is shown. Connect Images with Knowledge Base TopicsThe Interfuse Image Library works directly with the Knowledge Base to connect written information with visual documentation. To use an Image Library image as a Header Image, enter the image's URL slug into the Header Image field. To associate multiple images with an article, enter their URL slugs into the Gallery Images field, separated by commas. For example, the slug for Associating an Image Library image with a Knowledge Base topic creates connections in both directions. Images can lead visitors to the subjects they document, while Knowledge Base articles can lead visitors to related images and visual information. This cross-linking helps integrate written and visual information throughout Interfuse rather than treating articles and images as separate collections. Keep Contributions InformativeKnowledge Base contributions should be created primarily to inform readers. Information should be clear, relevant to the subject, and reasonably objective. Promotional language, unnecessary links, unsupported claims, and information unrelated to the topic should generally be avoided. When information depends upon an external source or could reasonably require verification, contributors are encouraged to provide supporting references. Every Submission Is ReviewedYou do not need to worry about making your contribution perfect before submitting it. Interfuse editors manually review submissions and can correct formatting, adjust Parent Topics, improve organization, fix minor errors, and make other changes when necessary. The important part is contributing useful information. If you know something that belongs in the Knowledge Base, submit what you know and allow the editorial process to handle the rest. Start SmallYou do not need to write a complete article to make a worthwhile contribution. Create a topic. Add a paragraph. Correct an error. Expand a section. Add a reference. Contribute a photograph. Individual contributions become more valuable as they are combined with the work of other contributors and connected with related information throughout the Interfuse Knowledge Base. Contribute what you know. Related-topicsContributorsLast Modified: September 28, 2026 Knowledge Base | Add Topic | How to Contribute | Why Contribute? | Image Library © 2026 Interfuse.com.
