The event was broadcasted live on ESPN and hosted by personality Chris Fowler. The event celebrated the excellence of the finalists for the award from the 2016 college football season. In the game, Jackson passed for 227 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 226 yards and two more touchdowns. Overall, Jackson completed 135 of 247 passes for 1,840 yards with 12 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. He also added 163 rushes for 960 yards and 11 more touchdowns.
